From Suede Design Studio

This gorgeous dress comes from Aleida, it is called Whispy, I am showing it to you in plum in these photos. It is really beautifully textured and comes with a really nice attachment for around your neck, I normally take these off as, I don't think they often look good, often look heavy and awkward, but not in this case I am happy to say, Ale has made it look terrific, probably because it is a light fabric texture, it just works.

From Suede Design Studio

For the rest of the outfit, I matched it up with boots also from Aledia also in plum, and to add some quirkiness to the outfit, I added these legging from Bijou. ( I don't know if the shop has closed yet, but I know it was having a 50% of Sale). Also I added Exile hair Love Story, Exile is also having a sale I think on certain hairstyles.

Black, red and blue

Sarena from LMD
From Suede Design Studio

I found these wonderful sexy tops in a shop new to me called LMD, Leri Miles Designs, the shop's owner and designer Leri, was incredibly nice and approachable and I found we had something in common we are both very keen on those breedable kitties.

Leri dropped a bloggers fatpack on me, and I will be showing you her lovely things over the next few posts, but first my fav.. this smexy smexy top, comes in lots of different colours, you can see it on the fatpack box in the first photo.
From Suede Design Studio

From Suede Design Studio

And I tried on all the colours, but my definite wardrobe staples are going to be the blue, so perfect with my old jeans, the red and of course the black which just goes with everything.

Just wanted to mention that this top is on the jacket layer and the delicate lace insert is transparent, and so it's bonus for tats and layers, but you need to make sure you wear low rise jeans or modify trousers so you can slide it down below the silk sash, just for a nice line, you don't want your waistband showing through and spoiling your look.

At World's End

From Suede Design Studio

World's End is one of my favourite stores, and the designer *Lucia Genesis* is very generous with the store gifts.
For this series of shots I posed with my friend Nerin, she wore the old group gift and I wore the new one, we both wore the hat gift as you can see. It is really fun to do Avant Garde fashion posts, as you can wear whatever you like.
From Suede Design Studio

The textures on both dresses are stunning as usual and the attention to detail is really incredible, my neck collar is so carefully textured, I turned my graphics card right up to Ultra to get the best possible photograph. On our hats, which I loved and Nerin hated, (but I made her wear it anyway), are little roses, a blackbird and little blue butterflies, there is so much work in those hats, the lace is on fullbright and glows, which looks lovely on your face.

Each dress comes with a mulitude of pieces and lots of prim work, go and check it out for yourself the store is at heavens gate. The sim is interesting too actually if you have time to wander around a bit.

Victoriana

Mercy Mercy Me

From Suede Design Studio

So, actually I saw this dress on the feeds and I realized it was the perfect fit for a Sim I have been meaning to feature for a while. Fatima Ur has several exquisite highly detailed beautiful Victorian themed Sims, she sells everything you could need to set up a role playing community from houses to tables lamps to even a maze and topiary where is where I took my photos for the this shoot
From Suede Design Studio

I did look at her other Sims, but this was a summer outfit and the only Sim, without a winter theme at the moment is the garden. I loved the dress but I felt it was a bit too revealing for a Victorian look, so I teamed it up with the Valerie blouse from Leezu, I love this top and have purchased it in a couple of colours. My shoes are from [e], she doesn't have many pairs for sale yet, but I think whatever she brings out next will be gorgeous just like the pair I bought, which I think will be suiting more than one of my outfits.
From Suede Design Studio

The other fun thing to do at this Sim is to take a ride in the horse drawn carriage, it is very sweet, takes about 2 minutes and goes around in a square around the garden, and in the 3rd quarter the carriage goes through a series of rose arches, which is really sweet, I actually said aww that is lovely, in RL, while I watched, I am such a sap.

This classic lingerie from GCD is absolutely gorgeous, it comes on all layers and also on the tattoo layer, so you have 14 pieces in all, I am showing you the conservative look, but it does have a sheer look, which is super super sexy, it comes also with a pair of plain white stockings which I love.
From Suede Design Studio

I am posing on Diesel works Chaise lounge which I purchased in cream it has 21 poses and it is a great prop, Just wish I could afford it in every colour. I am also posing with my friend's cute little Breedable cat, called Peridot, Wildwood Breedable cats are the latest thing to hit the grid I think they have been out about 6 weeks now, and they are lovely, beautifully animated and you can have kittens, gets all crazy eyed, I love cats in real life.
From Suede Design Studio

I purchased a couple of the Jadis skins from Glam Affair and this one is my favourite a soft makeup which I hope will go with anything,I am wearing hair from Analog dog in Ash called Monday, which is in the cheap section, no idea why, cause, it's very classic in style and has very cute flexi strands around your face, and for me, you can tint it with Analog dogs colour hud, which is an incredible bonus.

GLAM Skins Tattoo Eyeliner

From Suede Design Studio

This is the new makeup release from Glam Skins designed by Annette Cyberstar, a set of gorgeous eyeliners on the tattoo layer, I love dark eyeliner, smokey and sultry and although prim lashes can be great, from a photographer's viewpoint they can also be a problem, I often have to re- adjust the positioning in edit for certain close up shots. The tattoo version of lashes, solves this problem for me which I am finding I am using them more and more instead of my prim lashes. The big composite picture shows the Nellie No.6 on the background with the smaller piccies showing the choices for eyeliner.
From Suede Design Studio

I tried out these eyeliners on a couple of my skins and they fit perfectly with them all, I decided to show the liner on my favourite Nellie Skin from LAQ, and my choice of background makeup was so that you could see the eyeliner looking great on a very subtle eyeshadows, the make up is soft and delicate and my new eyeliner, just lifts it to the next level.

Absinthe from Bijou

From Suede Design Studio

So I did buy quite a few things at the 50% off Sale at Bijou and one of them is the outfit I am showing you below Absinthe, it comes in several other colours. This outfit is such good value all the pieces can be worn individually if you choose, and as with all Bijou ensembles the textures are outstanding.

I am wearing a giftie skin from Belleza called Jesse, with a hairbase and a hair attachment from Baiastice called Fedora, the earrings are a very old group gift sorry, but I am sure there are many shops selling a similar style. Shoes are from Annexx, part of a three pack I purchased, which included white, black and nude.

Miss Virtual World Edelweiss

Edelweiss from Purple Moon
From Suede Design Studio

Now, while I am no beauty queen, I have way too much potty mouth and too many curves to either fit into that swimsuit or to fit that crown on my crazy head, I do love being offered an incredible dress so I can pretend for a while * and the winner is....... Miss Scotland..... MMhwwwaaaa, sighs or not.

This amazing creation was designed by Purple Moon worn by Leandra Breen (Miss Germany) for the competition.

Now I did notice, that my good friend and colleague Deeta already posted this dress and she made it look lovely, but I had these photos already done, and I don't want to waste them, so I will just show you my shots as well. I think a dress like this cannot get too much publicity and we all have our own take on the look.. I think it is still fun, to look at everyone's interpretation, Although we both went for a space background.. laughs.

P.S, just a fun note, the bodice part of this dress looks really good with black leather pants, and I have a pair of Gold and black strappy sandals from coco, which are a perfect match. :) I found this out when I changed and forgot to take the bodice off.

Smoking in my new Hat

From Suede Design Studio

I do love the 1920's and so whenever I see a conch style hat with hair I have to get it, this one from Posh comes with a cute bow on the side, and as I am feeling super in my hat, I decided to go for minimal clothing, I mean we don't want to distract from my hat now do we.

The Sad Demise of Bijou

Editorial Comment

From Suede Design Studio

I got a notice the other day that one of my favourite stores Bijou will be closing shortly, the date has not been finalized as yet.

Last year a lot of stores closed, some well known and some new and little.
Canimal closed, which I felt as it was the first dress I purchased with my camping Lindens, but none grieves me as much as Bijou.

Let me tell you why, Bijou's textures and prim work are outstanding. The other thing I like about Bijou is her colours are quite standard, you can mix and match her clothing, to make new outfits outside the sets you buy, so many of her outfits are totally unique unlike anything else you can find on the grid.

Kotobuki Jewell, is a victim of her own shortsightedness, after making those incredible clothes, with beautiful textures and mostly excellent prim work,
Bijou did not advertise, it wouldn't send out samples to bloggers, even if you don't want to let people have freebies, then at least send out a seasonal pack of your own choice.

The last thing I heard from Bijou was that gorgeous bodysuit outfit, came in red, white and black with a furry hood, 2 Christmas ago. It was all over the feeds everyone loved it.

I know the Bijou store well and so I have no problem to navigate, I know the hair and lingerie were in different buildings, but I am sure people easily missed the Tp board. Inside the store, in order to get to the clothing you have to walk down a long corridor, it isn't obvious which way to go. People probably think that the front area is all there is, and never saw all the rest of the clothing the store has to offer.

The Bijouaholic build is beautiful, but it has to be functional as well, additionally it isn't easy easy to get to the casual area as the stairwell goes straight past it. You have to stop and fly or either go all the way down and find the short stairwell back up. People cant be bothered bluntly.
From Suede Design Studio

The other thing is Bijou is currently running a a 50% off sale which brings most of the casual outfits down to between 130L and 160L, the evening wear is still more than that, if your closing, then I am afraid standard procedure is to knock everything right down to between 25L to 50L as Phoenix Raising and Canimal did, and currently 5th and Oxford. At least at those prices people will buy one of everything almost.

The sad demise of Bijou, is just a testament of how even when your work is so beautiful, if you don't market and promote your label properly, You will fail
What a fucking shame.
Suede

P.s. On a last note, my personal preference would be make the clothing transfer as Last Call did, it keeps your brand alive, and your work becomes collectors items, and can be used for auctions for charity, and other worthy causes. You did all the work already don't you want your work to live on.. just a thought to ponder on.

Artemtis corset

I bought this beautiful lacey corset and knickers set from Chic Boutique ages ago, but never blogged it. There is also a ballgown which is very similar in look, I bought that as well. The wings I borrowed from a friend and I have forgotten to ask her where they were from, but as you can see they are a perfect colour match.

I played with the windlight settings of course, I managed to turn the sky blue and the tree black and then turned up the gamma to highlight the avatar's body, this time I did not use a preset, I basically just slid the buttons up and down until it looked good.

Plurky Challenge ,Oldies but Goodies

I have been looking at the other bloggers who have also been doing this challenge and seeing old designers long gone from the fashion scene in Second Life, I also have a collection of Last Call Dresses and outfits from back in the day. It was so difficult to choose.

So here we have my offering, my favourite store for the longest time was Bijou and I was a devout Tuli skin wearer and Analog hair, my first purchase was Lola, anyone remember that hair it was such a revelation.

Style Card

My Poses are from LAP * Long Awkward Pose* - Dove Swanson, actually I have a huge inventory of Dove's poses, back when she was starting out she offered to send out poses to her friends so we could try them out and feedback to her. Grins she was dropping pose sets on me left and right and of course Dove's work is so great.. I wasn't gonna stop her. :), One of the ones I like best is her Emo set.. all forlorn and sad.. makes for great atmosphere.

Why did I choose this outfit, I really like the texture of the dress basically and the belt is drawn in, but looks terrific and realistic even close up. I have a lot of different boots but I have always liked this leopard skins ones the best.. might be something to do with the red sole, cant imagine who it reminds me off. LMAO and now with the new viewer I can make this tuck into my jeans for a great winter look, I love how many new tops I have now with this, maybe I should do a post on that.

Geometric Black & White

I picked up this dress up several weeks ago at the Dressing Room, which I am sure many of you did as well, so I didn't want to be boring and just do a blog on a dress everyone has seen already, which I teamed up with silver Prestige Boots and hair from Exile. So I clicked on my trusty Photoshop icon and here is what I came up with, and at the bottom of the post I will give you the settings I used.

I was considering that the bright white spot was too bright, but when I darkened it down, I found the quality of the image was reduced, and so I decided to leave it.

Photoshop Settings

Under Distort, Diffuse Glow
Grain 7
Glow 12
Clear 17

Under Filter, Render
Lighting effects, just adjust until you have the effect you like

Oh and P.S. I did notice I have a typo on the first picture, but I have flu and I am too lazy to go back and fix it.. I can spell Geometric, I just cannot type it... :P

Simply Me.....

Lorelei Maggs from the SuperElite Blog introduced me to Vitabela's clothes and I keep going back there and buying more stuff.. this outfit however is an incredible group gift to celebrate 2 years in SL.

The Dress is called * Simply Me* and you can get it from the main store, just join the subscribo and then click the board next to the stairway. It is really something special and I hope my photos will do it justice.

For this set of photos I just went for a colour explosion and turned my windlight settings onto Belleza. I used those cute poses with the frames built in, but for me it is limiting, as you can not get the angle you want every time, because the frame shows. I also took some studio shots with a plain background but I want to experiment with photoshop tomorrow, and I will post up the processed photos then.

Twinkle Twinkle little star

Twinkle Night Bazaar

I found this little night bazaar , mostly full of Japanese Designers, with some very cute items which I quickly snapped up, the best thing about this place is that it is priced at 40L and under. I took some photos of the things I purchased, but there were lots more to purchase and many different styles and quite a lot of avatars and so I think more people are finding out about it. It is definitely worth a look. What I particularly appreciated was a small rezz zone at the end of the bazaar so you can open your boxes. I am just giving you general directions because it really is tiny, it wont take you 2 seconds to find everything I have featured here.

So I really liked this dress it is right at the end of the bazaar on the right, and has a nice texture on it.. the hair is from Kyoot from their big sale a few weeks back. The bag is also in the bazaar on the right about 6 star up fromt he beginning. I like the star detail on the back at the nap of the neck, shoes are from Aoharu.

I also really liked this dress, which is black with little sliver star on the skirt, the layers are semi-transparent which give it a really nice look when you move. Hair is April from Analog Dog.

As well as the pictures I have posted here to tempt you to visit, I also bought another white dress which is very nice and has great lacework trousers which I teamed up with another top for another complete outfit and also I bought some little pink flats.. don't know when I will wear them but I am sure something will come up.

Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue

The Classic Bride

So here I am again with my second installment of my wedding cheapskate hunt.. this time I went for a classic look.. simple elegance.

I really liked this dress because it is understated, the prim roses on the waist can be removed and you can have the dress with or without the train. I noticed I haven't got a veil.. but flowers in my hair again.. I will find a veil for the next one.
